Life holds it's share of trauma. There isn't a person in the world who hasn't had some major hurt or pain in their life. The death of a loved one, the rejection of a love, or even a natural disaster, can bring serious trauma, especially if they're unexpected.

But for the adult survivors of childhood incest, trauma means more than the temporary reactions one has to a hurt, a rejection, or even a disaster. Unlike other events which lead to trauma, incest involves a family. The family, the one place where we should be able to feel safe and protected from harm. The family, the people we're supposed to be able to love and trust. The family, the people we see every day, or at least on holidays or special occasions. The people we're supposed to love and believe that they will love us back as well.

If you have been the victim of incest, or know someone who is, welcome to HeartStorm Online. Please take time to read the mission statement and statement of faith before anything else. As a survivor of incest myself, and as a Christian, I take this topic very seriously. This website ministry may not be for you, however. The statement of faith and mission statement will help you determine that for yourself.

Please feel free to refer this website to your friends and family members as well. Bear in mind that this website is not intended to replace professional, in person, counseling.
